Sue Hayman MP for Workington has today written to the Health Secretary Jeremy Hunt MP, demanding assurances that West Cumbria will receive the investment it needs, following investment in the form of the new nuclear power station at Moorside.

With an additional 4000 construction workers and their families entering the area in the next few years, it is imperative that the Government commits to fully funding West Cumbria hospitals and critical infrastructure needs of the area.

Sue Hayman, Labour MP for Workington said:

“The Tories are letting down staff at Sellafield by raiding their pensions, leaving thousands of workers stripped of their retirement incomes.

“Workers are paying the price for six years of failed Tory economics.
